the location of the hard-fought Tensho Iga War
Maruyama-jo Castle Ruins, one of the largest in the Iga region, is approximately 400 meters east to west and 450 meters north to south. The castle was built in 1578 by Takigawa Saburohyoe, vassal of Oda Nobuo, and said to have fallen in the same year by an attack of the Iga clan.
