Iwaosan Sokusho-ji Temple
Sokusho-ji Temple is a Tendai sect temple belonging to Hiei-zan Enryaku-ji Temple.
A 5-meter image of Fudo Myo-o engraved on a large bare rock during the Muromachi era lies at
the deep end of the temple
grounds.
Legends associated with Saicho, founder of the Tendai sect of Buddhism remain in the area,
stating that the large lone
cedar tree by Iwao-ike Pond grew from a chopstick that he stabbed into the ground during his
meal.
